What Are The Most Popular Skincare Treatments in 2024

Post Type

Skincare is going wild. There are so many treatments available that weren’t ten years ago or even five years ago. From vampire facials (now a new HIV risk) to Korean botox and the entire Korean skincare trend, gone are the days when a simple moisturiser was enough. And god forbid that you aren’t using a moisturiser with factor 50 SPF!

But out of all these weird and wonderful trends, which is the most popular skincare treatment in 2024? Read on to find out.

The Facial Frenzy

We have to start with the face because that’s what everyone else is talking about – and if you Google it, anything skincare to do with the face is the most popular treatment.

The one we have to talk about first is the Korean skincare frenzy. Let’s bust one myth: you won’t get Korean skin unless you’re Korean. Sorry, girls (or anyone), unless you’re Korean with the blessed genetics they have, you don’t have the bouncy, glassy skin you’re seeing in the videos. And the funny thing is that most of the videos are created by Korean girls making everyone believe rubbing a natural rice mix on the skin will create bouncy, wrinkleless skin. Still, there’s no harm in doing it.

Don’t get us started on vampire facials – ITV News published a report saying three people have contracted HIV from vampire facials. Thanks, Kim Kardashian, for making us think they were the best.

Non-Surgical Treatments

Non-surgical treatments are 100% up there with the treatments everyone is interested in. From composite veneers to anti wrinkle injections, there is every non-surgical treatment you can dream of. Are they all bad? No. The issue is that some girls are going OTT with fillers and contorting their faces – Molly Mae and her Xbox jaw is one example.

When performed by a professional with years of experience, non-surgical treatment can be effective at enhancing and improving personal image. Sometimes, it pays to pay more, and that definitely applies to aesthetics and non-surgical treatments.

Some facials are great, like dermaplaning, micro-needling, etc.

Lotions and Potions

Lotions and potions are definitely becoming the most popular. As we said, you can’t have a simple facial anymore – you have to have a long list of products, including:

  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Serum
  • Face oil
  • CC/BB Creams
  • Moisturisers (WITH SPF!)
  • Night creams
  • Eye creams

There are probably more we’ve forgotten about, but if you don’t have them all, social media is making us believe we’ll look 50 by the time we’re in our 30s. Some of it is good; there’s no denying that. The only consideration is picking products suitable for your skin type and not overloading your skin with too many products.

So, what do you think is the best skincare treatment trend? The world is definitely going crazy for it, and people are paying thousands for the same. Whatever treatment you go for, ensure it’s well-researched and suitable for you. You don’t always have to follow the trends because you think they look good.
