Exercise and Kids

Exercise and Kids

I’d like to get the ball rolling on a subject that’s now very important to me, exercise and children. I’ve just become a Daddy for the second time and I’m very focused on making sure that both Adam and Emma grow up to be healthy and happy. Part of the reason I started to train regularly again in 2010 was to set an example to my kids. I don’t want to be the unfit Daddy who couldn’t kick or throw a ball at the park.

Lucky For Me 13

Lucky 13

I completed my 13th parkrun on Saturday and my 11th at Durham. My other two runs were at Saltwell Park, which is also a very good course. The number 13 is considered unlucky in some countries and also in the street I grew up in as it was missed out as a house number! 13 doesn’t seem to be unlucky for me, for starters it’s my wife’s Birthday and I’ve just completed my 13th run and gained a personal best. I thought it might be a good time to do a little write-up on what I think of Durham parkrun. +

Pier To Pier Success!

Pier to Pier Success

Yesterday I completed my first Pier To Pier run so I thought I’d do a quick write-up as it’s fresh in my head.

Firstly, the race was fantastic! Secondly, it was very well organised so I have to say a huge thank-you to both the Sunderland Strollers and the South Shields Harriers. +

Total Warrior 2012

Total Warrior 2012

I’ve always wanted to do something challenging and have often thought about doing the Great North Run or the Coast to Coast. These are both fantastic events but as I’m not a good long distance runner or cyclist I knocked that idea on the head! +
