Fitbit Versa Review

Post Type

Hi guys, Amy here with a review of the brand new and amazing Fitbit Versa.

First of all, I have to confess to being a complete Fitbit lover. After losing weight 4 years ago and getting a dog, my next stop was to buy a Fitbit. I started with the Flex, which I think was the original model and later moved onto the Charge. I absolutely loved the ‘challenges’ that you could set with friends and colleagues and it was a fantastic motivator to increase my daily step count and of course hit that magic 10,000 figure. Then at some point a fellow colleague joined the challenges and somehow managed to sap the fun out of it all. I mean there’s competitive and then there’s competitive! To cut a long story short, I fell out of love with my Fitbit and switched to a smart watch.

Fitbit have really upped their game since the Flex days and have been bringing out models that offer a lot of the same features as a smart watch such as the Blaze and the Ionic. I’ve been looking on in envy as people could enjoy the fun of a Fitbit with the technical spec of a smart watch. The truth is, I missed my Fitbit. I missed the fun of the challenges and the kick up the backside that is sometimes required to get me moving each day, especially on office days. Imagine my delight when the hubby asked if I’d like to review the brand new Fitbit Versa!

I chose the rose gold model, which comes with a pale pink, soft rubber strap. It is so pretty. It’s all I kept saying as soon as I put it on. If you get sick of the strap (which I might!) there are so many other colours and designs you can buy and replace. There are other Fitbit models that offer smart watch features but I have to say the Versa is so aesthetically pleasing. My model looks really feminine yet in black flips quite easily into looking masculine but equally not out of place on a female wrist. They seem to have nailed the right size to not easily be able to glance at it and make any assumptions as to whether it’s designed for a man or a woman.

Here’s a Fitbit Versa video I found online…

The Fitbit Versa isn’t just a smart watch, it’s also a health and fitness watch. Here are some of the features I particularly liked.

  • Heart rate tracking
  • Water resistant to 50m
  • Apps, clock faces and notifications
  • Store and play more than 300 songs
  • 4+ day battery life
  • Health and fitness tracking
  • Sleep tracking
  • Female health tracking
  • Contactless payments
  • Compatible with iPhone, Android & Windows

The battery life is very generous compared to other watches of this style and price bracket. Obviously it depends on how much you use it but I’d say a minimum of four days was accurate for me. The different clock faces available is a nice touch. For example, I switched to a different version to attend a Wedding last weekend. We walked the dog today and I used the contactless payment option to buy a coffee. It saved me having to cart my purse on the walk with me. Most of the other features are what you expect to find on smart watches these days.

Fitbit Versa Review

I personally love the Fitbit Versa! If you’re looking for a great looking and great performing smart watch, I can highly recommend it.
