Hi, my name is Adam and I’ve just been to Lapland. I loved it because I love eating snow.
On day one which was a Friday, we drove to Manchester and stayed in a hotel for the night. The hotel was really big but the room was really small. I watched Salvage Hunters and The Chase on the hotel TV.

The next day we flew to Helsinki. The airport was big and busy. There was lots of shops and things to buy. I sat next to a very snotty person and Mammy. I played on my tablet and we did word searches. We arrived in Helsinki. Again the airport was big and busy. We found the Reima people from Kidventure and the other families from around the world, like Switzerland. There was a big Goey who high fived us. At the front of the queue for the flight to Kuusamo, we were given a Kidventure bag with pencils, pictures, activity book and a cuddly GOEY! I was very pleased because I’d forgotten to pack my cuddly blue monkey called Bubblegum.
Reima had a plane all to themselves. I had an awful cheese sandwich. We arrived in Kuusamo. We collected our luggage and got on the bus to Ruka! We went to the shop to buy food that I like and then went to our apartments. We had a sauna in our room.
It was Mother’s Day, Sunday. We forgot to pack our cards and presents but Mammy didn’t mind. We had breakfast at Colorado. I ate bread and butter. We went on a bus to Iisakki Village and did kick sledging, snowmobiling, snow sculpturing and ice fishing. Ice fishing was the best, the end.
Next day we went to Lammintupa and we had a reindeer ride and fed them.

Next we had a husky ride. Daddy nearly fell off and we kept yelling at him to brake. The huskies had a poo, just like some awful chocolate that I’ve just eaten from the cupboard.
We had a pancake and went to the shop. I bought a cuddly reindeer and a husky.
We got on a bus and went to see SANTA! We went sledging with the elves, had sausages in the hut then we went into Santa’s cottage.
Santa gave me a present. I had 5 cookies and I sat on Santa’s knee and I got a Santa hat. I waved to Santa from the bus and he waved back. Then we disappeared into the snowy mountains.

It was Tuesday. Slope Day. We went up the magic carpet and did snow tubing. It was fun and very fast. It was a big hill. Then we slid down. We had our lunch. It was the best chicken I’ve ever had!
Then it was time for our ski lesson. My ski shoes felt weird. We practised with one ski then two and then down a hill. Up the magic carpet and then down the hill. I was very good at it, I was better than Emma and the rest of the group. I could do it because I can do roller skating.

That night we had a group dinner. There was a lady who played the drum and a man who played the accordion. Emma tried it. I didn’t eat anything because the bread was hard and it was disgusting.
Wednesday was free day. We sledged all day and played in the ice park. We had lunch in the Ruka Pizzeria. I was very happy to have pizza even though it tasted like salami and not margherita. We had dinner in Piste Restaurant. I had bread and butter because it was mash and stew which is disgusting. Then it was the village fireworks and they didn’t go on for very long but we got to play in the ice park afterwards. Northern Lights were outside our apartment that night but everyone was asleep.

On Thursday we visited Oulanka National Park. We wore snow shoes and I lost one straight away in the deep snow which was up to my knees. We walked for sixty miles then had a little break for two minutes. We ate disgusting sausages and toasted some marshmallows on the fire. We drank delicious hot chocolate. I was so pleased that I had two cups. Then we walked for another sixty miles back to the bus and left forever.
That night, we saw the Northern Lights! Daddy got the message that they were here and so he ran for dear life with his camera, pushing a little boy out of the way and ran to set his camera up. He left us. We all put our coats on and ran after him, jumping for dear life to see them. Our friend Sabine sent the message and she was there with Benny and their little boy Max. The Northern Lights were amazing, they were like paint blobbed on a piece of paper, dancing in the sky. The perfect end to the whole holiday and I was pleased.
We travelled to the airport then all the way home. I went to sleep in the car. The end.
I loved the whole holiday. I ate 1000000 tonnes of snow, made new friends from all around the world and will never forget our trip to Lapland.
